“A Lot to Like for the Money”

  , Glendale
We arrived early and were permitted to check in several hours before our official check-in time, which was much-appreciated flexibility. Compared to many hotels, the room was large and had a spacious closet with enough coat-hangers. I especially appreciated the usually large personal refrigerator, which made it easy to customize breakfast, and prepare take-along lunches. A microwave oven in the room would make simple hot meals possible. TV is a modern flat panel with HDMI outlets compatible with Apple TV. The room had more than usual number of available electrical outlets, many of which were accessible without moving furniture. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Two story construction eliminates waiting for an elevator. The motel has ample free parking near the rooms. It has a nice little fitness room with with a single clean modern treadmill, elliptical and stationary bicycle, through no strength-training equipment. The magnificent large outdoor pool and landscaped surroundings would be very appealing in warmer weather. Though this hotel is listed as near the airport, I did not hear plane noise as I have at other airport-close accommodations. Rooms had showers without bathtubs, which I consider an advantage; still those who require a bathtub should be forewarned. The only significant negative for me was the fact that the free WiFi worked only intermittently, if at all. WiFi connections were difficult to achieve and the system often dumped the user in under five minutes. For a hotel that aspires to serving business travelers, this WiFi problem needs immediate attention. Otherwise, I would rate this hotel as a good value for the money. Business travelers with deep pockets might prefer something fancier but this Ramada would be a good choice for cost-conscious single travelers or families who can't live with the cheapest but cannot afford to pay for the lavish.
