The room was adequately priced for the area. Had not been Vacuumed. We got in around 6 pm and after a long drive wanted to take a hot shower. The water was freezing cold. We called down to the front desk and they had informed us that every time we wanted to take a shower we had to call down and have them turn on the water heater and wait for 5 minutes. OK small inconvenience, as we settled in we had to call and walk down to get 2 light bulbs. A short while later as we pulled the comforter back there was only a sheet. I immediately call down to the lobby and inform them that we have no blanket. The person tells me they don't put blankets in the room and since I already have a comforter and a sheet they are not required to give me a blanket. I explain that no self respecting person would use that dirty comforter and was told that is not their problem. So, I go and buy two blankets from the local Walmart. Next morning while having breakfast (not Ramada's continental, it was a joke) with the rest of our party that stayed next door. We asked about the blanket situation, the response? We all had blankets... After breakfast I return to the front and ask to speak with the manager. The manager was not in. When I did get the call I am informed that it is not the hotels responsibility if the house keepers do not put blankets on the bed and the front desk does not have to give me blankets if they choose not to. Then continues to say that I'm lying about having to call down to turn the hot water on because hotels don't operate that way. I explain that this really happened and my only options were to go buy blankets or get another hotel room at a separate hotel. I am then told nothing that can be done for me. Not even an apology. So I can't cancel my 2 night because I have to refund from the website that did the bookin.com. I called Corporate and the first two people I spoke with where gassed, expressed concern, said this should not have happened. The complaint was escalated and was assured I would be hearing from someone about the outcome of the complaint. Still have not been contacted. At the end of the day this is a shabby hotel that should have an hourly rate. There are 8 other nicer hotels next door that may cost a fraction more but look terrific not horrific. And obviously Ramada is near the name they use to be I would expect motel 6 franchise would have dealt with my complaint better. « less

This Ramada was running a special anf I decided to check it out and reserve a room. Afterall, I was in Norfolk, VA on business and it was close to the meeting place. The rate and the name were the initial attraction. However, the staff here have NO IDEA what customer service is all about. The come across as if the sign out front and television commericials will bring the customers in so they don't have to bother with common courtesy. The oom was clean. There was a broken light they obviously had rigged so it could not be used and it was next to the desk and guess what, I neede the light. When I took a shower, I was greeted with a huge cold blast of water in my face and after 20 minutes, I still had nothing but cold water--so I took a cold shower and off to my meeting. When I arrived back to my room, at 10am, checkout is at 12pm, the bed was stripped and my lunch had been disposed of. I understood the mistake by housekeeping and my review would have been better if MANAGEMENT (lol) actually took the time to give a hoot about my complaint. They did not. I was kept waiting for over half an hour and the manger still could not get off the phone long enough to take care of my issue. I simply was not important enough to warrant service. Only after informing the receptionist of my intent on staying until this problem was resolved, did she start pursuing the manager. After several half-hearted attempts to pacify me instead of satisfying me did the agree to help me. This was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone. « less
