“Salt Lake Ramada”

I booked two King rooms about a month in advance. One for my wife and I, the other for our disabled adult son; disabled with intellectual impairment, autism and other associated problems. I requested the rooms to be close together and was told that my reservation was noted accordingly. On arrival (early @ 12:00pm) our rooms were not cleaned and was told I would receive a call to my cell when ready. I confirmed the request for the rooms to be close together to monitor our son. At that time there were rooms close together in the Tower, away from traffic noise. We returned after a couple of hours to complete check-in. There had been no cell call from the desk; however, by then there were then only 2 King rooms left in the hotel - one on the 3rd floor and one on the 1st floor. Both were closer to traffic noise. The staff encouraged us to take Queen rooms instead - but these would not work for our son and were not a consideration - not what we had booked and not what we needed. So after travelling since 5:00 am that morning, exhausted and discouraged by the staff's inability to understand our situation, I resigned our fate to the rooms on different levels. We got through the night with many trips up and down the elevator, and resolved to not cross that doorstep again! What had happened from the initial booking to the first desk contact to the actual room assignment? Clearly the ball was dropped by Ramada. Does it really matter? I got a strong impression of the old take it or leave it, and by the way screw you attitude. For anyone who understands the special meaning of travel for a family with a disable member, I would not recommend the Ramada
