“Lots of better hotels in the area with more service and less cost”

  , Westville
We had asked to be placed in a room close to our friends on two separate occasions before check-in and again at check-in only to be placed very far apart. This is when we should have known that we were in for trouble. When trying to get a hold of the front desk when we discovered problems with our room, we tried calling for over an hour only to be put on hold or hung up on a couple of times. Our first night, one of our towels that were folded on the rack had mascara on it and some of the body lotion was missing from the complimentary cosmetics. Since we could not get a hold of anyone, we just made do for the night. The next day we discovered the fire detector had kleenex stuffed in it. There are multiple stains on the floor in front of the room in the hallway. This is a very run-down old hotel that does not live up to the brand-name. The "new large pool" is basic and small, also no hot-tub or sauna. The exercise center consists of 3 old-looking treadmills, no other equipment. Breakfast in the attached restaurant took forever and a day to get served. The front desk staff acts as coat-check for the attached bar instead of focusing on the hotel guests. When trying to tell front desk staff about our troubles, they were hanging out in the back office looking at computers and were very cold and unsympathetic. We will not be staying at this hotel again as it was much more expensive than surrounding hotels and did not provide any quality customer service as well as the building being more like a rent-by-the-hour motel room.
