“The hotel from hell”

Three major issues: 1. The restaurant was being used for a party with overflow in a tent in the garden. People staying at the hotel were invited to use the bar to eat. But the party people filled the bar queueing for drinks. Waited almost an hour after ordering to be asked to eat cold mash and overcooked steak - impossible to find anyone to complain to. Australian family next to us wated even longer because the first order that came was wrong - they left without touching their meal - it was so bad.Because of the tent the bar was cold due to people coming into the bar for drinks and leaving all the doors open. 2. The room had a fan at the side of the desk (left over from summer). The plastic covering of the feet was missing and the metal uncovered was jagged and misshapen. The jagged metal was 6 inches outside the line of the desk. Anyone leaving the left side of the bed to go to the bathroom risked gashing their feet and ending the night in hospital. 3. The "dinner" was prepaid at the time of booking (2 x 15 pounds). The receptionist promised to alert the bar that the 30 pounds had already been prepaid. The invoice the following morning showed no trace of the prepayment and attempts were made to charge the full price of the "meal" in addition to the prepayment that had been wrapped into the price of the room. It was only after some discussion and debate that the error was corrected. That night in Ramada Dover is the worst hotel experience of our lives. Even worse, it was clear that none of the staff were even the least bit concerned at any point in our stay.
