“Paradise Thai Style”

We have just returned from an all too brief one week stay at this wonderful hotel. The location was stunning being directly on Bang Niang beautiful golden sandy beach where a short walk to the left of the hotel brings you to some fabulous beach restaurants - Tonsun and My Friend are highly recommended . . But back to the hotel itself . . . . Our positive experience started the minute we arrived with the welcoming smile of the reception staff swiftly followed by refreshing cold towels and drink. Our allocated room could not have been better - a ground floor Lanai room just 20 feet from the spacious veranda to the amazing pool area - infinity pool including a adjoining children's pool and jacuzzi type area . . . And alongside the pool bar and pool and beach dining area admirably run by Toh and his very professional team . . . Nothing was too much trouble for them - we even got nicely told off for attempting to move our own parasol - the usual Thai smile accompanied by "no no that's our job". The gardens were immaculately kept and access to the beach is direct from garden and pool area. Our room was kept to a very high standard by our lovely maid who always ensured that we had fresh water and an abundance of coffee. We eat in the hotel restaurant on two evenings and whilst more expensive than eating on the beach or in the local town the food was amazing particularly the Thai buffet evening which was accompanied by a great show of Thai dancing provided by local students. It's just a pity that more guests didn't support the themed evening buffets and maybe if the hotel priced them more competitively guests may do so - the beach restaurants are extremely cheap by comparison. We have read a previous review from a guest about problems caused by children and associated noise - this was not something we encountered but speaking with hotel, staff there are certain times if the year when there are naturally more children amongst the guests i.e. School holidays - if if you want peace and quiet as we had then its simple avoid school holidays! Before arrival at Ramada we stayed in two other excellent hotels in Bangkok and Chang Mai but this hotel exceeded all expectations and we will certainly be looking to return to Thailand again as a result of our experiences here. Thank you to everyone at Ramada for such a wonderful experience.
