“Things you need to know and improve upon.”

I found the hotel to be clean and well maintained from a housekeeping perspective. My room was nice and very quiet, which I greatly appreciated. The hotel staff was also very helpful, friendly, and professional. What is lacking and very apparent to be lacking is sophistication and an element of class. Just because it's a Ramada, doesn't mean things shouldn't be done in a classy way. To begins with, there is a piano right off the restaurant that plays bad music constantly on its own. It competes with the sound of the TV in the restaurant, which is annoying and anything but relaxing as I was eating. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! The restaurant is what needs the most work on improving. The breakfasts were poor. They served the lowest quality bread: white or wheat and that was it. No bagels or English muffins -- just cheap bread and cheap muffins. The lunch and dinner menu needs redoing with the addition of greater variety. The table clothes and napkins were cheap polyester and a dark, unattractive color, underneath a cheap unappealing centerpiece on each table. Also, the servers were not at all dressed appropriately for working in a hotel, which further spoke to the restaurant's lack of sophistication. Being that this Ramada is off the Houston airport, those of us quests with no transportation are at the mercy of the hotel for meals. The restaurant staff, including the chef, are all friendly and want to accommodate the guests, they just don't have a lot of great stuff to work with. They need support and education.
