“Run of the Mill but Very Close to Airport”

OK (mostly) for a stop over between flights. Shuttle service was terrible and the food/beverage facilities were grossly understaffed. We arrived on a very hot evening after a 13 hour plane ride and called the hotel for a pick up. The hotel is less than two miles from the airport. We ended up talking to the van driver at 7:09 PM by phone. We arrived at the hotel at 7:40 pm We waited for almost a half an hour in the 90+ degree heat and oppressive humidity. When we relayed our experience to the staff at check in we got an "I'm sorry" and that was it. We gave them several opportunities to do something to ease the pain but the staff was well trained in ignoring the plight of their customers. This is fine when the majority of you customers are one-timers. After dropping our bags off at our room and freshening up we went upstairs to the bar. We didn't want to eat in the restaurant because it was basically a big TV with some tables in front of it. The bar at least had a couple of spaces where you could look somewhere other than the TV. We had a friendly bar service person who unfortunately kept disappearing. When we asked her why, she said that she had to go to the kitchen and wash dishes since there were not enough staff in the restaurant. The quality and value of the food was fine but we paid full price since the van delay caused us to miss the happy hour discounts. If you need a place to stay between flights, this is one of several offerings in the area, just be forewarned that the staffing levels and training are severely lacking. I
