I guess the first thing I want to say is that this hotel was clean!!!- well, the rooms that were cleaned. I booked two rooms at a really great price. I was taking my son's friend to Baylor for a music audition. This hotel is about 9 minutes away from Baylor and Tripadvisor had pretty good reviews. When the teenagers went into their room, the bed was messed up and dirty towels were on the floor, etc. We had to go back downstairs and it seems the desk staff forgot to check the list of unmade rooms. Back upstairs we went. In both rooms, we kept hearing music in the bathrooms. We could never figure out where it came from. The wifi would not work on floor 3 the whole time we were there. Another couple had complained at the desk when we were changing our room. Staff just said sorry but it was working in the lobby. My room had an adjoining door for the room next door. When I opened my door, you could see through the crack of the doorjam clearly into the next room. I am sure they could also do the same for my room. I did not want to sleep in the bed facing the door for this reason. The ceiling in my bathroom was water damaged and had "plaster" peeling off of it,. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every little sound. The people in the next room might as well have been in my room. The hook on the bathroom door was broken off. I know, these may seem like little things, but little things start adding up- especially since this is a new hotel. Breakfast was not great but to be expected for this level of hotel. There seemed to be a lot of light bulbs out downstairs in the breakfast room and lobby. And then there was the Jehovah Witness Watchtower magazines on the lobby table-3 to be exact with the other carefully laid out magazines. They were all about Doomsday with burning buildings and fire on the front covers- definitely adding to the negative vibe of the lobby. I gave it a 3 rating but it was at least clean and no bedbugs!!! « less

The good: Clean; nicely appointed; high but comfortable bed; good water pressure; no smell of cigarette smoke (= very good). Reservation was in order; check-in and check-out very smooth.The bad: I was in room 312. The phone does not work. I siggled wires; I tried other outlets; the phone does not work. I was unable to connect to the WiFi with neither my smartphone nor my laptop computer, and I'm a tech guy. There were plenty of bars, and on several repeaters; but every attempt to connect to any of them met with "Unable to connect", meaning that apparently the router was down or needed rebooting. When I called downstairs (with my cell phone, since the room phone did not work), all they could do was offer to move me to another room. That would not have fixed the problem, as there was plenty of signal, just no connectivity. And I was already unpacked and settled and didn't feel like moving.Also, the bathroom door is built by design to automatically close every time you open it. I'm sure you consider this a "feature". I consider it a "royal pain in the a*s" and finally propped it open with a chair in disgust.So if you want a nice, clean, comfortable room with no communication at all with the outside world and don't mind a bathroom door that stays closed by itself, by all means, go here. « less
