I stayed here after a wedding. It was nice and clean and the staff in the lobby were great. Several of us in the wedding party stayed here but I was a little late making my reservation and missed out on the discount. My fault, but I thought it was slightly overpriced. Throughout the evening/night, the staff was incredible. I ended up staying up way later than expected and had planned to sleep later than normal but was not allowed. Another member of the wedding party that I don't particularly care for decided to start yelling and beating on my door the next morning. It wasn't extremely early, but still several hours before checkout. I was angry and may have caused a scene had I let him in so I figured if I just let him make a fool of himself, a staff member would handle it. It finally got quiet so I tried to go back to sleep. After about 10 minutes the door came flying open and he came in screaming for me to get up. I managed to handle the situation without breaking anything and escorted him out by his neck. By this time there was no chance of me going back to sleep so I gathered my things and made the long drive home. On the way home I talked to a friend of mine that was also in the wedding and was told what had happened. The guy quit beating on the door to go to the front desk to ask for a key to my room. They refused. He came back up and told a lady with a cleaning cart to let him in and she did so without asking a single question. He did all of this against the advice of a few people we were there with. I'm not real sure what to think of all this. I never saw the lady with the cart on my way out, but she could've caused someone to get severly injured that day. That guy was really lucky that he got out as easy as he did and she's lucky I didn't know what happened until I was long gone. I wouldn't want to cost anyone a job, but I really believe the cleaning crew at the Gatesville, Texas location needs to be advised against doing anything this foolish again. They can't just let random people in any room they ask. Other than that, everything was great except for me missing out on my discount. « less

The maid came and took our towels while we were at breakfast our first morning. She did not leave any replacements. We then went to take showers. Not good! She came back to clean our room around 2:00. We were getting ready to leave for a family wedding at 2:30. I told her this as best I could ... she did not seem to speak or understand English. I asked her to return at 2:30 to clean our room. She said she couldn't. It was too late, from what I could understand. NOT GOOD GUYS! Also, I asked her to bring us THREE clean towels for the next morning. She said she would. She brought us TWO. I asked for an additional towel. You would think I was asking for the moon! Really guys! What's up with the towel Nazi situation?! If you take my towels IN THE MORNING, then bring me new ones! We never got a third towel. That may seem trivial to you, but you asked so I'm telling you what I think.Also, people in the hotel, front desk, breakfast area, etc,. were not friendly at all. I'm originally from Texas. Lived there all my life until 10 years ago. Everyone is friendly in Texas, but not at your hotel. I assume you have the "trickle down" affect going on. Upper management is driving this? I usually stay at Holiday Inn Express. Unfortunately, that wasn't an option in Gatesville, Texas. You could learn a thing or two from that corporation.Sorry, but I'm not impressed with your servicce or your staff. You need additional training in both areas. I will not stay at Ramada again unless it's my only option. « less
