The pluses of the hotel were that it was easy to get to (near the highway.) The pool appeared to be nice and was a good size compared to the average pool size in today's hotels. There is a nice, very large gathering area off the lobby (also where the pool is.) The free continental breakfast was good in quality although somewhat limited in variety. The free parking garage right on the property was a nice feature. The bartender in the bar area was extremely friendly and helpful. The people working the front desk were very helpful, friendly and accomodating. Generally the hotel was clean but does show its age.The minuses were that our room smelled like it possibly used to be a smoking room and now the smell is trying to be covererd up with deodorizer. it was by no means overwhelming and you got used to the smell pretty quickly. It was not so pungent as to warrant asking to be placed in a different room. There is only one elevator for a relatively large hotel. There are only 3 floors so using the stairs when the elevator was not immediately available was not that big of a deal. The Wi-Fi connection was difficult to connect to and when it was connected, the speed was pretty slow. The non-suite rooms do not have refrigerators but you can rent one for $10 a day. The price seemed a little high to rent a dorm sized refrigerator that probably costs $200 to buy. Our 2 double bed room cost $109 per night (plus $10 for the fridge.) Given the dated condition of the hotel, the rate seemed a little high. Our room seemed like it should have been more in the $90 range.
