“Terrible experience!!”

I booked 2 rooms well in advance of our stay, for my husband & I as well as a room for our daughter who was graduating from the Newport Naval Academy. We didn't have time to inspect the rooms since we had to meet her for a ceremony on Base. When we got back to our rooms, a little after 9 p.m.,, our daughter knocked on our door and said the beds did not have mattresses....my husband went over to look, and was disgusted. There were mattresses (I would be ashamed to call them mattresses), however, they weren't even 2" thick. My husband called the front desk, and after holding for quite some time, the staff finally moved her into anotheer room. There reason for not wanting to move her ---- we were told that they didn't have another room with two beds!!!! Since she was the only occupant of the room, plus the fact that I never requested two beds for our rooms, I thought it was a ridiculous explanation.Regarding our room-----1. The air-conditioner was not functioning properly.My husband had to get up three times, during the night, because the room became uncomfortably hot, and he had to keep adjusting the AC. 2. I could smell Mold in the unit (I do have an extremely keen sense of smell), and there was some black mold on the edges of the bathroom tiles. 3. The room was not clean, and the drapes had holes in them along with black streaks on the blackout lining. I would have requested a change of rooms earlier, except for the fact that we werre totally exhausted when we arrived and in a rush to get to our daughter's ceremony.When checking out, I asked to speak with the Manager, and met with a Ms. Casey Peterson. I explained the situation and told her that I expected to get our bill lowered. I also told her that, when traveling, we had stayed at various Ramadas in the past, and never had such a bad experience. She told me that she would look into this and get back to me. That was on Saturday, August 24th. I do expect remuneration from your facility. Please get back to me with the information. My email is kel91540@comcast.net
