“Huge disappointment and embarassment”

I booked this hotel for guests atending my daughter's wedding. I now have to send an apology to all guests as this hotel was a real embarassment. Several of my guests were on the first floor. The rooms had a terrible mildew smell and the air conditioner broke in two of them (this was the hottest weather of the summer!). Other rooms had a strong chemical smell due to cleaning agents. One of my guests could not stay due to this issue. All complained and I spend time with the manager voicing my concern. I plan to call Ramada because they should be ashamed to have their name on this property. The poor front desk staff (they only had one at all times during their busiest season) was ready to cry. He/She was unable to keep up with the guests as they had no support. We waited a long time for any attention. We learned that the owner is selling the property and is not putting ANY money into it. My daugher had the "bridal suite" - the curtains were dirty, didn't open correctly, it was drab, and another dissappointment. The photographer had very little to work with for her candid pictures - again, a real embarassment. I will be very concerned about staying again at a Ramada after this experience. Shame on Ramada!!! PS - the staff is NOT the problem, Ramada is allowing the owner of this franchise to use their name!! And why ask about a pool - there was NONE!
