“No frills lodging; great location”

  , Gilbert
Pleasure trip to visit a friend. The location is nearly perfect, a mere three blocks from the Amtrak station, an easy walk or a quick cab ride. It's right in downtown close to shops and restaurants. I was a bit disappointed in the on-site restaurant--I ate only one breakfast buffet there--but with other places nearby, that wasn't a big deal. Convenience is the main draw for me. I did take off points for room odor; I deplore the scented sprays most hotels, including this one, use. I find the smell most obnoxious, but at least it wasn't overpowering. Finally, although the desk clerk said that it was operating properly and they had no complaints other than mine, my iPad could not see the hotel WiFi. The clerk said that iPads frequently had issues there and just to wait a few minutes. The network never did show up, although I saw the neighboring Hilton Hotel's briefly, but not enough to use. As I was there for only a couple of nights, it really wasn't that big of a deal to me; had I stayed longer, I probably would have pursued this matter further.
