“I'm sorry for not checking here first”

I found a decently priced hotel last minute. I looked at the pictures and I saw how close it was to our concert venue. Well I was very very wrong. First off, this trip was a gift from my in-laws. They paid for the room online before hand. When I went to check in, the very unpleasant woman at the counter did not say "Hi, welcome to the Ramada Mr. So and So". It was "Your name, I need your credit card!" Then I said I believe the room was paid for online, and she said, "uh yeah, but I still need your card." I guess the room wasn't too bad. My wife did find a couple of toe/finger nails on the floor near the bathroom when we first got in. There were a couple of stains on the comforter, but other than that it was OK. Then we went to the bar that night. The bartender, well was everything that you would not expect from a bartender. He didn't talk much at all, and was constantly disappearing. When my wife went to check-out, the little guy at the counter told her that we hadn't paid. Not knowing that the trip was a gift from her parents, she gave him our card, and I had hit the limit on it that weekend, so it did not go through. Well he started getting very rude with her, very rude, and finally she asked me to come in. His tune changed pretty quick, and I told me that he couldn't run the card that was used to book the room without the card and card holder had to be there with it. Now let me tell you, I have gotten rooms for my family members as gifts, and they have done the same for me many times. Long story short, my in-laws called the little guy and then they ran it and everything was taken care of. Meanwhile I was on my back to go to my bank and get cash. It is an hour and a half away. They little guy had my idea as collateral. So I had to turn around after this was cleared up. And the little guy did not even call me to tell me everything was good. My in-laws called me. If you can avoid it, do not go here. The staff is completely un-hospitable, and un-professional. This is why I stay at Marriott! I am pretty sure that I will not use a Ramada again, which sucks because I was going to stay at one next month. Well not much incentive to stay in one again.
