“overall very nice hotel parking stinks”

hotel location is in the middle of the city on a busy road, parking lot is across the street from hotel and is not clearley marked, it joins with a business parking lot and if you get in that lot the only way to get out is with a key card, and you cannot get into the hotel parking lot from there because of barriers. I learned this from first hand experience. There is no place for handicap parking only across the road from the hotel. Unloading is a small driveway shared with a medical office in an alley. I know this is not the hotels fault but there needs to be a reduced speed limit on that road in front of the hotel and there needs to be a crosswalk. I was just not confortable trying to cross the street with my elderly mother to get to my car. I did not see any crosswalks on any of the streets near the hotel. Hotel did not ask us if we had AAA upon making reservations nor when checking in. I saw the small sign the second day we were there and inquired and could only get the second day at AAA rate. There should have been something showing discounted rates at the desk where you check in. When we first checked in I told the desk clerk that it was very hard to find how to get into their parking lot and I was told that I was not the first person to tell them that. As a matter of fact when she applied for her job she said that she went into the wrong lot where you need the key card to get out. Overhall the hotel itself is very nice. Quiet, clean and the breakfast was very good. There were several food items to choose from. The location for us was good because we needed to go to the medical center which is less than 5 minutes away. I would recomend the hotel if you don't mind the parking situation. I would stay there again only because of the loction to get to the medical center but not as a tourist . Also we could not find any ice or beverage machines anywhere in the hotel.
