“This hotel has so much potential yet falls short in so many...”

This hotel has so much potential yet falls short in so many areas... it was really a strange experience. From the outside, it looks like a great place and the location could not be better for families visiting Lancaster as it is right across the street from Dutch Wonderland, with plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. However, once you got inside things go downhill fast... I stayed there for almost a week so maybe I got to see a little more than most but what made the biggest impression on me was that it seemed to be managed like a 4 room bed and breakfast.... If this hotel was not so big I would swear it was being managed by uncle Bob and his 2 sons. I mean the repairs that were being done looked like someone might do at their own house on a budget. For example, the whole concrete entrance way needs resurfaced... it looks terrible yet the solution was to simply paint over it in a darker tan color instead of resurface. There was other work being done around the property and it just looked like a budget mom and pop operation as opposed to a brand name U.S. hotel chain like Ramada. I realize Ramada is not the Ritz Carlton but you just don't expect repairs to be done in the manner in which they are being done. Also, the linen service was a disaster..... they were constantly out of towels and you had to take your bath towels to the pool. Every day the cleaning lady said she had to come back later with towels and I just imagined that there was one washing machine down in the basement some place washing all the towels for this big hotel. In any event, there were other items but I just gave a few examples above.
