“Sad, sad”

  , Brooklyn
My family does a yearly trip to Lancaster and we decided to stay at the Ramada Inn due to the location as well as proximity to places we wanted to go to. We had three rooms all together and they were kind enough to put us near each other. At check in, the front desk agent warned me that the pillows in the room didn't have any pillowcases but they said they would send some up shortly which they did.My aunt checked into her room with her sister-in-law and her room was fine. My room upon first glance was fine except that the garbage hadn't been changed and it was full to the brim. Unfortunately, my cousin ran into an issue with her room-- it reeked! It smelled like someone who didn't shower for days had stayed in there. The agent offered to send housekeeping up to the room with air freshener but we knew that wouldn't do the trick. Unfortunately they were completely booked for that night and the only other room available was a room with a king bed. My cousin didn't want to share a king room with another adult and two teenagers since she's a very light sleeper. Since I was in a room with two beds, I offered up my room and upgraded to the king (at no additional cost). The room was huge however it seemed to need a bit more renovating. There was a balcony however the wooden planks didn't lay flat and there were loose nails. I refused to go out on that balcony. Additionally, on two different occasions I saw a bug--I had no idea what type but it wasn't a roach, just some type of insect. Additionally on Sunday when I was showering, I closed my eyes to rinse my face and when I opened them I saw that I was surrounded in yellow/brown water in the shower. Oh yeah-the shower didn't drain properly. It kept backing up while showering. There was a sofa in the room that looked dilapidated and we later found out that it was a sofa bed so my cousin could have stayed in that room after all. My cousin who took the room that I had previously been in discovered that there was water trapped between the new tub and the old tub so when you stepped into the tub it felt like you were stepping on to a water bed. Yes ladies and gentleman, imagine showering with the floor moving beneath you. We'll be searching for a new place to stay in Lancaster next year. The staff really did try their best to be helpful however it's hard to please guests when you have little to work with. Breakfast was average but welcomed! We will not be returning to this hotel next year!
