“An Acquired Taste”

At first impression, this Ramada is very dated and the rooms look dark and dirty. It actually isn't that dirty and is acceptable after staying there three nights. Fortunately they are one of the few hotels in the area that accept pets, but their pet fee is rather high (twenty dollars per night). They do have flat panel TVs that get all the channels in digital quality which is great. There's plenty of room. The place is quite quiet actually and I did sleep well. The bed comfort is acceptable. The front desk staff is mediocre. They charged my credit card for the entire stay when I checked in. When I asked at the front desk the person insisted this is how it is everywhere and that she's worked at many hotels. (That hasn't been my experience over the past 30 years traveling worldwide.) The housecleaning staff is nice and helpful (unlike the front desk staff, which seem to act as if you're putting them out, or that they'd rather be elsewhere.) If you can stay elsewhere, do so, but if you must stay here either because you have a pet or because of budget, then you'll live.
