“Ramada Trenton - Will not stay here again”

Overall experience at this hotel was poor. We will choose another hotel if we go back to Trenton in the future. 1) I booked the hotel for 4 days online for $104 per night. We decided to stay an extra night. When I changed my reservation online, it quoted me a discount of 20% for 5 days or more, which reduced my rate to $84/night, however when I clicked 'book", my confirmation would not accept the change. So, I called the hotel directly and the agent changed my booked, confirmed my rate and then emailed me the confirmation. HOWEVER, not so when I checked in....2) The front desk agent printed the confirmation and asked me to initial the rate. When I looked at the rate, it was incorrect - it was $104 for the first 4 nights and $84 for only the last night. I told her about this and she went to talk to a manager. She was gone for at least 10 mins - then returned and told me she couldn't change it so I went to go get my confirmation on my blackberry email. When I showed the $84 daily rate, the manager told the agent to go ahead and change the rate. Still, no apology! The agent changed the rate in the computer, presumably, but then handed me the original check in and asked me to Initial it again. I asked her to print a new confirmation showing the revised rate and she told me to "Save a tree", in a very snippy attitude. When I told her that I wanted it printed so I could confirm it, she then proceeded to take her pen and scribble out the old rate and then asked me to initial it. I refused and asked her again to print it, she then crumpled up the sheet of paper and threw it across the desk. 3) I asked to talk to the Manager. The manager came out and I told him how his staff member was treating us and although he finally apologized and offered us free breakfast, it wasn't without a heated discussion. I don't remember his words, but he definitely did not make me feel that he was sincere in his apologies. Meanwhile, the staff member was standing to the side with a smirk on her face.4) The room was average and served our purpose, but the beds were very hard and uncomfortable - and the mattresses were different in the 2 beds in the room. The shower rod was broken in the room and the curtain wouldn't close all the way - which meant there was water on the floor after every shower. The tile grout was gross/old and the door wouldn't close all the way. 5) I booked the hotel for the pool. It was closed the entire time for maintenance.
