“Very Unorganized”

We recently stayed at the Ramada as part of a team sporting event. We initially booked Friday and Saturday with the team. 10 days prior to going we called the hotel and added Thursday and Sunday nights as well. We were advised the conf # we originally booked under was valid for the additional days. Upon arrival the desk advised us they had no reservation for us and the hotel was full. When asked to talk to the manager the desk staff explained in front of me we had not made a reservation and was demanding a room. The mgr was able to find us a room in the hotel however upon entering it the odor of smoke was very strong. I went back to the desk to request another room due to allergies and the same desk staff greeted me as they had never seen me before. Another room was provided which was better. We had met another family with the team in the parking lot and were advised they too had no record of their Thursday reservation and had issues getting a room. Talking to the manager, he advised they would be setting up the block of rooms for the team Thursday night for Friday check in. We were advised to clear out of our room Friday AM and would be assigned a room with the team Friday afternoon. Prior to leaving for the day, I ensured we had a room # assigned to us. When we returned the room was ready however our team of 10 families were scattered throughout the hotel. The room we were assigned also smelled of smoke and this time maintenance came into the room and misted with l'eau de Ramada. We spent the 2 nights with the team and checked out Sunday morning.With the exception of the first person encountered, the staff was very good. Mgr Brian tried his best to accommodate us however the lack of organization put us off on the wrong foot and nothing above and beyond was done to make up for the initial impressions.
