“Extremely Poor Property”

  , Pittsburgh, Pa
I stayed here for one night. 10 hours, but who's counting. Arriving at the hotel was not easy due to the construction in the area. The parking lot was completely dark, at 10:30 p.m., no lot lights turned on, and it was very difficult to tell where the check in desk was. Signage would have been helpful. Finally figured out where to check in, it was at the door where lots of people were smoking. The lobby was questionable looking, not very clean, there was a wedding happening in the hotel and it was busy. I was directed to entrance B around to the side of the building to find my room, and there the entrance B security door was permanently propped wide open, again with a group of smokers there. Not so secure, especially in a pitch black parking lot. The hallway carpeting was extremely dirty. The room itself was very worn and tired looking, the sheets were paper thin, the towels were really thin, too. I was looking behind furniture for a place to plug in my electronics and there was trash and dust behind all the furniture. The rest of the room was barely passable in cleanliness. The wifi was terrible and would not keep a connection. The one sink had a burn mark, the other missing a stopper, rusty tissue box on the wall was falling off. We sprayed half a can of Lysol around the room and locked the door and went to bed. The next morning I looked at the pool, which my room faced, it was marked closed for repairs but I doubt it has worked in a very long time. The landscaping was so overgrown, there were dandelions growing up from the bushes that were higher than the bushes, 5 feet high, no lie. The security door was still secured 'open.' Luckily my car was still there so that I could escape. I haven't stayed at a Ramada in years, and hoped that since Wyndham took them over it would be decent, NOT. Wyndham should be embarrassed by this hotel. They need to send someone to just walk onto the property, and they would see the need to do something immediately. Maybe this place needs Hotel Impossible to come and give them a hand. I don't know, but I should have paid double to stay anywhere else. My daughter just moved to Cleveland and I am looking for a hotel to stay at while I visit there, and this is not the place. We now refer to it in my family as the hellhole Ramada. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it is all true.
