“Good value hotel”

  , Clay City
I stayed at this hotel for three nights. The first night I stayed I had a lot of difficulty getting online with my computer. The front desk was very helpful but it took over three hours for me to get online. I had to switch rooms to get online. Overall the hotel was fine for the price I paid. I have a lot of experience with this type of hotel in the Columbus Ohio area as I use priceline a lot when I travel and I am in Columbuts five or six times a year. I would say that this is kind of typical for the price and star level. The staff is exceptional and very helpful and the beds are very comfortable. There are some problems, but for the amount I paid I was satisfied. Some of the problems were that my room had a broken lock on the door, this I find pretty inexcusable. The breakfast was ok. I really did not like it and chose to eat somewhere else two of the three days....but it was OK for the price of the hotel. The room was clean but not spotless. The bathtub had a few hairs in it and the sheets on the bed were not perfect. Again....this was not a four star hotel, so I forgave most of that. There were typical old age signs on a property of this type; chipped veneer on the funtiture, the clocks were not set at the right time. I appreciated having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The refrigerator however was noisy and hummed all night. I did notice cigarette smoke in the hallway that creeped into my room. Is it so important to cater to cigarette smokers. Why can't they go outside and smoke?Having said all this, I would stay here again for the price I paid. It was not bad, but could be better. As a buisness person, I understand the complex problems of the hotel business, and I think overall this was a fine experience, with a little tweaking this could be a better hotel.
