Nice grounds. I like the 1st floor patio access. Hotel was nice for an old hotel. Breakfast has a lot to be desired. First, people staying in hotels usually have somewhere to go in the morning so a 7am breakfast time is way too late. The breakfast was a sit-down and order off of a menu. The menu contained all of the same items that one would normally find on any hot breakfast bar at any hotel. Cute idea but I'd rather pick and choose my own breakfast and not have to wait for someone to put it on a plate. Most importantly, the food was terrible! Everything seems to have been frozen and thawed several times. The orange juice tasted fermented. The eggs were either cut with flower or they weren't real eggs. The fresh fruit looked old but tasted fine; indicating that it had been frozen. The biscuits were hard, stale and cold. They were out of bacon that day and provided sausage. I don't particularly care for sausage but it wasn't bad sausage. I'm a runner and require a cerain level of caloric intake. Usually I can get that from a hotel breakfast but this time I had to stop at the store and fuel up. My suggestion is to just put out fresh breakfast items and let the people help themselves. The breakfast experience alone will prevent me from returning to that hotel. Otherwise the hotel was not bad.
