Thank you for your posting on Trip Advisor Jill P. We are very proud of the beds in all of our guestrooms and we receive very positive and frequent feedback in regards to how comfortable they are. As for the heater/AC unit in the room, depending on the exposure of the room and the direction of very strong winds it can whistle through the units. If the fan is turned on to a comfortable setting the whistling noise is eliminated. Thanks again for your comments....Greg Fleming, General Manager « hide

Thank you for your feedback Jonathan F. I apologize the room you stayed in did not meet your expectations. Due to the design of the hotel we do have some rooms which are slightly below ground level, because the windows are installed higher up than other windows, the heat/AC unit the climate control is installed at the same height. The windows are and allow considerable natural light during daytime hours...however due to the weather conditions in St. John's there are several days when it can be heavily overcast without sunlight. If you wish not to be on the first floor we do our best to assign rooms on our other floors. Best Regards....Greg Fleming, General Manager « hide

Thank you for your feedback Teresa M. I am disappointed you felt you did not receive value for your money. We offer several different discount programs everyday however theses programs are based on our room availability. There are a pre-determined number of rooms available for each discount rate program and when the rooms are sold the discount is then closed and not available. As mentioned in previous responses we are in the midst of planning some updates and refreshing of some hotel rooms and public areas of the hotel. Best Regards, Greg Fleming...General Manager. « hide

Thank you very much for the feedback. We apologize for the disturbance you experienced during your stay. Due to the location of some rooms, there is some extra traffic that will take place compared to other room locations. As our hotel is 100% non-smoking, guests who do smoke do so outside, and due to the winter weather that we are experiencing guests do not venture far from the entrance areas. Our staff do monitor the situation and will continue to do so to ensure other guests are not disrupted. I thank you for the feedback and upon your next visit, please request a room away from entrance areas and our staff will be more than happy to accommodate you. « hide
