“Mixed Bag”

The hotel is located near Stewart International, but doesn't offer shuttle service to the airport before 7:00am. Local cab companies arrive on time but won't take reservations and lie about the far to Stewart ($10 over the phone; $13 upon arrival at airport). I include this tidbit because Newburgh Cab Co. was suggested by the hotel.Walls are thin and if your neighbor watches late-night TV you can hear everything. Down the hall is a nightclub/restaurant that rocks past midnight. Though we were fifty yards away, the glass window on the courtyard transmitted the club's music quite well.Staff is polite but English is a second language. They were generous, loaning me a charger for my phone (mine broke), but when a request for more towels was made at night, they said they'd bring them but did not. We had to go down the long hall to the front desk to get them ourselves.Security is good. "Do Not Disturb" signs are respected.The Continental Breakfast is the best I've encountered in a medium priced hotel: Belgian waffles (make 'em yourself), toast, bagels, scrambled eggs and sausage are all good. But when the orange juice dispenser dispensed just orange water, the attendant shrugged, likely not understanding my request that she fix it. There are no blankets in your room: you have to ask the front desk for one unless you'd like your heater to kick on and off every two minutes. With all the competition near an international airport I expected a better baseline experience.
