“Ramada Inn has gone down hill”

  , Sunland
Drug bust on property, too much smoking, nicely upgraded rooms, polite and quick service shady people. I've stayed here a couple of times for at least 2 days or more, but the last stay in March was probably my last one. There were possibly new recruits in wheels chairs on the fourth floor in front of 401 drinking and smoking, blocking the doorway, and partying up. I gave them 30 minutes to stop, but ended up talking to the management to get them out of there. Mgnt is cool, speedy. The rooms are clean, recently remodeled (newer matresses, flat screen tv, ac/heat units). Outside all the units are ashtrays, but these ashtrays are next to non-smoking rooms. How am I to turn on my ac unit when there is someone smoking right next to it. It just blows smoke into my room. Also, the camera only point at the vending machines on the first floor and the side entrance doorway. There is no camera facing the parking lot. My registration sticker was ripped off my vehicle either in this parking lot or elsewhere, I'm not sure. If you love mexican food, Armandos is next store and they have great burritos. Also across the street is a decent donuts store. The access to the downtown/beach is good from here, but the traffic is horrid and LOUD! It goes right through the walls and windows, and Oceanside isn't known as a quiet town. Bikers, sirens and bigger vehicles frequent Mission Rd. next to this hotel. The Motel 8 was something I looked into, but was so cheap and sterile, that I chose this hotel instead. However, the last stay as below subpar, and again, the breakfast is ok at best there. There has to be a way to upgrade the breakfast there. Computers in the check in lobby at decent. Parking is crowded at night, so get back to your room reasonably early for a spot.
