“Absolutely Disappointed....”

  , Edmonton
When I travel, I generally stay at a Ramada. I've only ever been upset once in the past, however this was resolved. For the most part, it has always been a great experience; not this time. I stayed in a "King Bedroom". It's been my experience that these are a bit classier then the typical double, etc... Well, it was the filthiest room I have ever stayed in. I knew it was an older hotel, but didn't realize that all it's furnishings would also be. The head board was broken, but fixed with popped out screws and a makeshift wood brace. The metal bracket holding up the bed claimed my toes and ankles every morning and occassionally throughtout the day. The mattress was comfortable, but it was upsetting when, we were trying to sleep in, had the do not disturb sign up and someone from the hotel banged on the door and slipped a piece of paper under it. I guess my attendance at the Timeshare presentation exceeded the need for a comfortable rest, not to mention the housecleaning staff arguing outside the door. I'm not sure what was spilled down the front of the green leather chairs, but lets just say it matched the colour. So obvious, but never cleaned. The cabinet that housed the TV was utterly disgusting. Dust, grime and assuming drink glass stains definitely set the stage for further disappointment. I'm glad there was ice and that the hotel was conservative and allowed me to continually use the same plastic bag daily for new ice. And I needed ice often because the fridge was gone... Big empty space, no frige... Sorry, not empty, there was some old napkins from a local restaurant and a water bottle but not mine in that space. The washroom.... lets put it this way, very botanical.. There was mold on the walls of the shower. I get that it's very humid where I was at, however I don't beleive this was intended to be there. I'm a country kid and am usually not turned off by too much. I also pride myself as law abiding and in fact am employed in that field. I was truly saddened for myself and my partner as her and I were presented by the STAFF at the facility an opportunity to purchase drugs. Wow is all I thought to myself. One staff member even told me about a man that was staying in the hotel and had two prostitutes if I was interested. Really.? I'm so sorry but I must say that this by far was the worst nearly week that I stayed at your facility. If it weren't for all the planning that I had done for my daily excursions, I would have changed hotels.MP
