“Clean and comfortable, but a bit dingy”

  , Bonney Lake
My recent stay at the Fishkill Ramada Conference Center was comfortable enough, and the room was clean, but the hotel's appearance and maintenance is far less than stellar. One night, while opening the door to the main lobby, the door flung open with the closing mechanism above dangling and smashing against the aluminum frame. The rooms have not been updated or refurbished in quite some time. While the maid service was fantastic and they made the room sparkle as much as they could, it was hard to overcome the scratches and dents in the furniture, or the disrepair of some of the pieces. The combination dresser/entertainment center was pulled away from the wall at a cockeyed angle and was missing the refrigerator (an empty hole and dusty wires showed inside the cabinet where it would normally be). It was too heavy to move myself, so there it stayed. The television was a very old model and the light fixture on top of the bureau was a bit rusty. Not all of the outlets worked on the desk, and a tangled mess of wires spilled from the left rear between the desk and the wall. The furniture and carpet are dark and roughly 80's vintage. The only reason I stayed there the entire week was because of the staff - they were really great. If you're looking for a place to crash at night that's clean and relatively comfortable, it's fine, but the Quality Inn has better "quality" and is $20 cheaper.
