“Grfeat, Good, fair, to0 poor”

I have stayed here several times in the past (and enjoyed my stays very much), but it's been a few years since my lest visit. The interior court hadn't changed much. The counter help was pleasant and the price seemed fair ($71.99 plus taxes). The room was less pleasing in that there appears to have not been upgrades or improvements done to the rooms in quite some time. The paint was dull and pealing in corners and the rooms had a stuffy, old odor to them. The bathroom really showed its age and there were stains on counters and shower. The bath facilities worked just fine and water was hot w/good pressure. The firealarm in the room had a dying battery and was constantly chirping. We called the front desk for a new battery. After 45 minutes and no show, we called again. My wife was told the maintenance person would be up when they could and it was out of their control. This was unacceptable as my wife and I had hoped to take advantage of the indoor pool and did not want the maintenance people in our room without us being there. Approx 15 minutes later the maintenance guy showed up and he replaced the battery w/o further incident. He was extremely pleasant and even went out of his way to go to the front desk, retrieve towels to be used at the pool and met us at the pool with the fresh towels. Koodo's to him. Wish I had remembered his name. He was great. The pool on the other hand was not as great. Aside form it being half the size as it had been, it was also freezing cold. If I remember correctly, it was heated during the winter months. The pool was definitely not heated during this stay and was freezing. We endured the cold temps and enjoyed the water for as long as we could tolerate. After swimming a bit, we went back to the room and prepared for an evening at the local restaurant and bar inside the court yard. The food here was always great and I remember spending several evenings enjoying cocktails at the bar area. The eatery had not changed a bit and the food was great as anticipated. The bartender was horrible at best and couldnt make a drink to save his life. Drinks were simply horrible and he was not attentive at all. The stay was topped of with a double charge on our credit card. The counter help said it was out of her hands to fix immediately and refused to accept a copy of my bank statement showing the double charge as proof to cancel the extra charge against my credit card. I was told the manager would call me the following day, but never did.
