“Between Lying on the Website, and Poor Valets Will go Elsewhere!!!”

  , Culpeper
This was the second time in which I stayed at Ramada on the Beach in Virginia Beach. The first time was only for one evening and was great experience. This time on the other hand was a nightmare.Started off with poor advertising/booking when it came to their website. I was excited to take my wife on our 5th anniversary get away and decided to stay here. We pulled in, and I asked the valet if I could leave my car in the front of the hotel for the night (this was a thursday). There was 90% of the parking spots open and was not a big deal. He pretty much bribed me saying that they were not allowed to do this, "but if you take care of your valet i'am sure we could work it out." I laughed and being in a good mood threw him a $20 bill and he kind of giggled and said "that'll last you the evening." I laughed to myself and we moved on again being in a decent mood not truly caring about the situation. I walked away and kept my keys, THANK GOD!My friend and his girlfriend also came down and they had a room in which we booked for them too. He had it planned to ask her to marry him, and we were all ready to enjoy a great weekend. He parked his car with the valet people and left the keys with them. The very next morning we were standing in the hallway which completely over looks the valet parking lot, and all the valet people waiting on the girls to get ready. One of my friends yells. "someones in your car" he ran out thinking he was joking and to everyone's surprise a valet driver had taken my friends SUV down past the parking garage and down the street. We instantly went down stairs to complain and had three different people continue to watch and time the activities the driver was embarking on. When we went to the front desk the people went and got the General Manager for him, in the 10 minutes we waited to see a general manager who was in the back we asked the guy where his friend had gone with his vehicle. The head of valet instantly got defensive and said "you do realize they make more than one of your vehicles" we were in shock because we had just watched the guy pull his vehicle out of the parking area and past their parking garage. The General Manager brought us in the back and we explained exactly what happened, and he went on to rambling about how long he had been in the dry cleaning business, and how after 5 years of being at the Ramada On The Beach he had never had this happen. He totally defended his guys instead of taking a minute.
