“Old & Dirty Facilities”

  , Minot
I have to say when we parked to check-in to the hotel I already felt odd staying at this hotel. There were maybe 4 or 5 cars in the parking lot and the hotel itself looked old, dirty and had a scary feeling to it. After getting our room we found out we were in the second wing of the hotel... I felt like our family had the entire wing to ourselves. Once we entered the room it was huge... lacked furniture - the room felt so empty... the furniture it did had was disgusting. Yes I understand the hotel was older but that is no excuse not to clean the chairs or carpet!! We did not let our baby crawl on the floor and we wore our shoes the whole time. Just the whole feeling made our family want to leave. However we decided to walk around the hotel trying to find something about it that would make us feel better. The restaurant connected to it was good and the pool is great for kids. The employees working around the building (maintenance) did not look very professional. They had huge diamond earrings, sagging pants, and did not really have a nice approachable character about them. However the one man working the front desk was amazing! He was very helpful, professional and great at his job. Our air conditioner in the room did not work, we also had what looked like mold growing in our room. We talked as a family about checking out and leaving to find another hotel. However, we had just driven all day and had brought everything in so we decided to bare it for the one night. My husband said he would not want myself and our daughter staying at this hotel alone. The room is defiantly not worth $99. I have my bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management and I would have to say I would be embarrassed and humiliated to work or be affiliated with this hotel.
