“Worth the winter money”

  , Michigan
I've stayed twice at this location booking the winter rate at about 55 bucks including tax.. I'm ok with that rate. Normally in the summer I stay at a mom and pop for a little bit less, but most mom and pop's are closed during the winter months. The hotel was a ramada now a baymont and it's undergoing renovation to the first floor now that the upper floors seem to have been completed. I book a king single and the beds are quite comfy. the TV reception is marginal , but that could be charter's fault and not necessarily the baymont, since charter has yet to flip the ludington market to a digital system . Checkin is good , check out good, breakfast could be better, the biscuit and gravy is pretty bad.. the rest of the breakfast is what you'd expect.. toast bar, pastry, yogurt, cereal, waffler. The joint has a pool but I don't uses pools but it looked clean enough and NO one ever used the pool while I was there these last too stays. I've eaten at the restaurant on site, and had a prime rib dinner for 9 bucks that was what you'd expect for 9 bucks.. In a pinch it will do. NO problem with the property feeling secure, it's old and could be a bit loud on a hopping weekend bar night, but I was staying wednesday nights both times and it was quiet enough... the ptac inthe room had some issues keeping up with the severe cold -9 nights, and lots of air was leaking in from around the ptac. Overall for 50 plus tax or so it was fine, it's much higher priced in the summer so I'd look elsewhere, like a mom and pop and you can still be around 50 bucks. NO breakfast though. but ludington is filled with decent breakfast joints (HOF,106,OLD Hamlin, and a couple of others, keep away from brenda's it's over priced for what you get,)
