“Poor Management and Poor Housekeeping”

My fiance' and I spent a night at the Ramade in Hancock MI. It's a nice location on the waterfront with nice views however I would not recommened anyone shoud stay for two reasons. Reason 1. Poor management. We found blood on our bed sheets right before we went to bed. It was a two bedroom room so we simply switched to the other bed. The following morning I informed the front desk about the sheets and she told me that they would comp our stay but needed managment approval to do it. When I talked to the manager she told me that her staff would never put dirty sheets on a bed. Than she asked why we didn't call downstairs right away to inform the staff, well it was 11:30 and we were tired and had a clean second bed to sleep in so we decided to deal with it in the morning. She than followed up by stating that the blood was too red and fresh for it to be laundered and put on the bed, so it was an unknown FRESH blood stain that we almost slept on. After accusing us of causing the blood stain the manager, Laura O'Neill, walked out to her Jeep and drove off before I had a chance to tell her my thoughts. We ended up paying full price for a room that had a large fresh blood stain.Reason number 2: Poor Quality. Another group of friends that were staying in the hotel with us had their smoke detector start randomly going off and 4 am, they tried sleeping thought it till 7 but couldnt take it anymore and talked to the front desk. Again it took the manager to make a decision to compensate for the issue but before she did that she asked why my friends didn't call maintenance right away when the smoke detector started going off. So she was blaming them for not taking care of an issue that is her responsibilty. After they talked she finally took off a percent of the room charge. So to summarize its great location with nice views but management (Laura O'Neill) is rude, blames guests when problems arrise that are the hotels responsibility and finally the quality of rooms and housekeeping is awfull.
