“Cold In That Hotel Room”

A nice, clean room well equipped and with an adjoining sitting room and kitchen. The lighting was a bit dim even with all the lights on. But the worst thing: it was cold in that hotel room! My room was about 60 degrees when I got in. Usually the heating system warms a room up quickly so I don't mind conserving by not heating empty rooms. What I do mind is a heating unit that can't get the room warm for several hours. After a couple of hours trying to work and waiting for the room to warm up, I was so chilled that I went to bed early . I know the front desk would have moved me but after being there for a couple of hours it wouldn't have mattered. The front desk took $15 off the price of the room, which was a nice gesture. When I travel to Grand Rapids, that hotel is in a good location so I would stay there again if I knew I wouldn't need a sweater in my room. W-Fi was free (good) but not very fast (poor to average signal strength/bandwidth). I have a strong loyalty to Hilton properties, where I can recall having only one problem in many years over hundreds of room nights. My experience with third level chains like Ramada and Best Western has been that they can't seem to deliver a consistent experience. Oh, and please find a way to offer several types of pillows. The mattresses are OK but the pillows are all poly fill, lumpy and too firm.
