“Sub-par ammenities but excellent staff”

  , Baltimore
We picked this hotel because it was supposed to have a bar, a restaurant, an indoor pool, and bathtubs in the room. When we arrived, we were told that the bar had closed 2 years ago. The "restaurant" was okay if you like paying 10 bucks for a cafeteria-grade buffet that seriously lacked vegetarian options, and the apple crisp was actually made of blueberries. The pool was in a separate building about 2 blocks from the hotel, whilst we applaud supporting the local swim-clubs pool, the ceiling was peeling off and the building was in otherwise despair. Surely, the Ramada can afford to invest a little more money into making the building be nicer for both the community and the guests. After swimming, I was really looking forward to a hot bath, but the drain wasn't working and so we couldn't fill the tub. And at the end of the day, the beds were so hard that I checked to see if we were sleeping on a box spring. But the staff was super nice and accommodating and gave us tips on where we could grab a drink and made sure we had towels, etc.
