“You get what you pay for”

A challenge to get to this location, if you don't know Boston. Lock on room door refused to let me into room every time I tried. Maintenance men passing by helped me once, and promised to replace the lock later that day---after I would be checking out. Alarm switch on clock radio appeared worn, as the indicator LED would not stay lit. Finally got it to hold and it did go off as programmed in the morning. Shower head mounted low--had to duck my head down to wash my hair. I'm average height, and would have preferred it to be mounted 6" higher. There was a burn mark on the top edge of the bathtub--maybe a cigarette burn or a curling iron burn. The sink bowl/countertop had markings from a powerful cleaner or bleach. Most of these were simply inconveniences or cosmetic deficiencies, but the door problem was a real pain. Access to the rooms through walkways that appear to have been mostly closed in some time ago. When making the reservation, I was told the hotel's complimentary shuttle would take me to the Hynes Convention Center. When checking in, I found this wasn't the case. The shuttle took me to the commuter train station, from which the train took me with a couple blocks of the convention center. All in all, if I return to Boston, I'll look around for a better value.
