“Find another place!”

We booked there because there was a block of 10 rooms being held for a celebration. Upon making my reservation, I called the number of the hotel direct, and was told to call the 800 number as she was busy checking in guests. I called the 800 # and was told there was no such group rate for the name I gave. I was given a price $20 per nite more than other family members who booked through the hotel direct. When we checked in, I asked at the desk to please check the rate, and found of the 10 rooms, 3 received the discount, 3 used points or another on line service to get a lower rate and 2 of us paid a higher rate than quoted. That was the beginning to the end. I originally booked for 2 nights, but by the time I was in my room, called the desk and cancelled the second night. My car was a better idea if I couldn't get another hotel. The air conditioner was full blast, but the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming. The room had a king bed and pull out couch. Very spacious, but dirty and old. The bathroom had mold on the floor and in the bathtub as well as on the back of the shower curtain. I saw in the hotel lobby that there is a charge for cleaning the room should someone smoke in it. What does the hotel do with that money? Even if they sprayed the drapes, carpets, and walls with a deodorizer it should have helped. Ever heard of bleach for the bathrooms? The 1 instead of zero was for the breakfast offered. The server was wonderful considering it was a sold out nights and she was the only one running between 12 tables. We had a party of 8 and she was able to move 2 tables together without a fuss. I'm sure my brother will write his comment as his air conditioner didn't work and at midnight the desk manager offered him the only other room available, but they found clumps of black hair on the bed and in the bathroom. My son had cigarette burns on his pillows and blanket. Housekeeping needs to be retrained before I would ever consider staying in this place again!
