“The staff and the rooms were lovely. Everything was clean...”

The staff and the rooms were lovely. Everything was clean and fresh and very reasonably priced. The problem was the location of the rooms - second floor (no elevator and I had a senior with me), just inside the fire doors (that slammed open and closed with the constant use - shook the entie hallway!) and above the main lobby. (noise, noise, noise). Granted, we were out of the room for most of the day, usually returning around 9pm on all 3 nights that we were there. The first 2 nights, we couldn't even get inside the pool enclosure because of the number of people using the facilities. Then on the Friday and Saturday nights, it was well past 2 in the morning before we were able to get to sleep because of the drunken and boisterous bar patrons that wouldn't go home - they wanted to continue the party in the parking lot (located just under our window!). Saturday night also included hallway shenanigans...why can't parents act like parents? At 11:30pm, your kids belong in bed. Not running the halls, shouting and playing "tag" and "hide and seek"! I actually went into the hallway and very politely (but firmly) told these young children to get back to their rooms because other people with families were trying to sleep! A parent then came out of an end room and yelled at me for ruining her child's vacation. Must say though...I was pretty impressed with that mother - she didn't even spill a drop of her beer after she staggered into the wall! Eventually, a good (but short) night's rest was had by all. The next morning at check out, the staff could not have been more supportive. They made their notes and promised to investigate these complaints. Hopefully they do. Again, it wasn't the hotel that detracted from our time in Bangor...it was the inconsiderate people that we had the misfortunate of spending the weekend with.
