I have stayed at the Ramada in Regina many times over several months. My employer has an account there which is the reason I make repeat appearances. The first impression when you walk into the hotel is nice. Recent renovations to the lobby and lounge are esthetically pleasing. The staff are consistantly friendly and eager to please. I have had some issues with invoices and checkout that seemed to be due to inexperienced staff, but eventually they were all resolved.Guest rooms are standard but the washrooms are small. I have always found the rooms to be clean. (I have high standards when it comes to cleanliness in a hotel.) The downfall is that if you can hear the neighbouring rooms water running - toilet, shower and sink - as loud as if you were in their room. It is distracting if you're trying to work. The fitness room has the essentials, cardio equipment needs to be updated but it's acceptable for a short stay. I haven't used the pool/hot tub/sauna but they are in the same area as the fitness room and they look nice. The food is terrible all around. The hotel boasts it's 3 on site establishments, The Atrium, Mulligans Lounge and Fibber McGee's. Fibber McGee's is accessible from inside the hotel or off Victoria Ave. I made the mistake of going there for supper once. I'm not sure if it's the offsale, VLT's, or street access that's the problem but the clientelle it draws made for an uncomfortable first and last visit. Very rough looking people were in and out constantly. 2 males even took the liberty of approaching me, at my table, and asked if I'd like to buy some jewellery from their trench coats. It was scary to say the least.Mulligans Lounge on the other hand offers a nice atmosphere, average to below average service, and terrible food. The Atrium is basically in the lobby and would be an atmosphere suitable for breakfast or lunch...if the food were any good. Unfortunately, the menu is the same in Mulligans and The Atrium (with the exception of a few appitizers) and they share a kitchen. I have tried many items on the menu and have yet to find anything I enjoyed.Out of shear necessity to put something in my stomach before work, I have attempted to order room service for breakfast on several occasions and have only once had someone answer the phone. If you need breakfast, get up early and go somewhere. This hotel is fine if you just need a clean bed for the night.
