“Disappointed”

  , Springfield
Based on Trip Advisor reviews, we booked at Ramada, Ellsworth. We were so disappointed. As you walked into the lobby which was nice and spacious, we were greeted by an awful strong smell that permeated through the entire hotel. It was like the smell of wet/damp clothes which were put away or worn before they were dried. Our room also had stains in the entry way and one of the green cushions on the bed had an oily stain. The smells in our room were fortunately not as terrible as they were in the rest of the hotel. Even the good breakfast in the morning did not take away the poor impression. I was subjected again to the odor as we walked from our room to the breakfast area. Further, their computer in the lobby posted a date which was not the current date so that I could not book the following night elsewhere. This Ramada was not cheap either at $154 per night, an AAA rate. If I knew that this Ramada was like that, we would not have stayed there. There were many other hotels in the area, some which were cheaper and others which were more expensive. After that experience, I would have moved to a Hampton Inn or Fairfield instead. After 2 weeks of travelling staying at various hotels, the Ramada at Ellsworth was the worst experience. Never again!
