“Changed reservations”

I booked online and called the hotel to confirm after I received my email. I was confirmed for a king non-smoking! Perfect for my pregnant wife and I. When I arrived a couple days later and checked in at the front desk I was told by both receptionists that I was booked for a double smoking. Not happy. I argued with the receptionists and showed them my email and told them I had called to confirm. They stopped just short of calling me a liar and asked the name of who I had spoken with on the phone!! As if I remembered that!!! After arguing and calling around to find that no other hotels had rooms the manager gave me a key to a non-smoking double and told me to check it out. As a last resort I went to go look and was going to take it but when I returned to the front desk the manager miraculously told me that a non-smoking king room was available. So after 40 min of stressful arguing and worry I was in the room I booked. The room was clean and comfortable and we were very happy with the location although I am not sure it is worth taking a chance on the service and personnel. I hope that they can use this review to better their service.
