“beautiful new suite”

The new suite we stayed in was beautiful. A few minor things that could be done to make it a little more convenient for the guest. Such as a hand towel placed by the sink in the bar, a second bath mat (one for the Jacuzzi tub and one for the shower). There was also no sign of a tissue anywhere in the room. The tile in the bathroom area is lovely, but very cold to walk on. An overall note about the hotel, we traveled with our children on this trip and they were looking forward to getting to the hotel to swim. Upon our arrival, there is a sign on the check in desk stating that the pool was "closed for a private party until 5:30". This would have been nice to know in advance. We arrived with our children at the pool at 5:30 only to find the pool still FULL of the party goers. All decorations were still up and consumed every table. There were still party games going on and presents being opened. The pool was full of pool toys that belonged to the party goers. There were no seats for us to sit on or place our towels on. It was very uncomfortable and not at all appreciated. Needless to say, we left the pool and our children had to wait another hour before the pool area was cleared out and being used by patrons of the hotel once again. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time so we could have planned accordingly. When I make a reservation I would expect that unless I am told otherwise at the time of booking I am paying for the use of all the amenities. I didn't appreciate having to make my children wait an extra 2 hours to use the pool. If you must rent out your pool area to supplement the income of the property, maybe you should consider limiting it to the hours between check out and check in times (12-3) and certainly if you say the pool is opening back up at a certain hour make sure the party guests have left and the mess is cleaned up by that time! On another note, when we checked out we asked many questions in regards to room configuration for future stays with our children who are getting older and needing more room and the desk clerk was very helpful and took her time to let us know what was available as possibilities.
