“Definitely won't be staying here again...”

  , Pensacola
I paid about $76 with tax, but the room should've been FREE. We got into town a little early. I appreciated the fact they allowed us to check in before 4. Most hotels won't do that. I was travelling with a 1yr old, a 5yr old, and 7yr old. The room was small, which I expected because of the price. Our room was located directly in front of the courtyard...where everybody sits and SMOKES. My 7yr old and 1yr old are asthmatics so I tried to keep them in the room as long as possible. The carpet definitely needed to be changed. It smelled like someone smoked in the room and the carpet had been wet several times and not shop vac'd afterwards. The bathroom was kind of cute but it smelled of mold and mildew. Very very bad mold and mildew smell, which I couldn't understand why because the only thing in the bathroom was the shower curtain which looked clean. There was hair in the bathtub. My guess is it wasn't hair from the top of somebody's head... The sheets on my bed had stains in them. The hotel could definitely use some major upgrades. I will be back in New Orleans in October and I plan on staying at the Crown Plaza...we have one here in Pensacola and it's phenomenal. Maybe I should've gotten a more expensive room, but it would've been a waste of money because we were only there over night and checked out around 7am Sunday morning. I'm sorry, but it's definitely not somewhere I would recommend. The lobby looked better than the room, which I don't think that's supposed to happen. There was only 1 ice machine that I know of and I had to walk (with 3 kids) across the courtyard and up 2 flights of stairs to the 2nd floor. One thing I did love was the security of knowing nobody crazy was going to come in because you have to use your room key in order to unlock the security door. Then you go into this foyer/sitting area and then to the rooms. That was pretty cool. Inconvenient that the gate to the parking lot was closed/locked. Not sure what time they did that but if someone wanted to get into the parking lot all they had to do was drive around. I understand the continental breakfast wasn't to make us "full" like we were in a restaurant but I didn't enjoy the food. All-in-all I ended up coming home to a sick 1yr old and 7yr old. Both are allergic to cigarette smoke and my 1yr old has very very bad allergy problems. We stayed in room 135.
