“Room Cold.... No heat.”

When I checked into the motel about noon on the 22nd. I went to the room and turned up the heat so that my wife would have a warm room when we got back from shopping. Upon our return the room was still at 65 degrees and falling. I contacted the front desk and Maintenance came up right away but they coudn't get the heat going. We were told that we would get another room but due to State Wrestling finals also in Casper that weekend there were no other rooms available except a smoking room. My wife has enough health problems that a smoking room would have closed off her sinuses and we would have had worse problems. Maintenance did finally bring a space heater but it didn't ge the room much more than tolerable. The front desk staff that evening and the maintenance staff were good. The next day when we checked out I was never asked how my stay was and was almost charged twice for the room. I had paid cash upon check in but they wanted to know if I wanted to charge the card on file. I said no. I do feel that the front desk staff should have returned my money when we had no heat but they may not have had that authority. My wife left a comment card but now, a week later, we have heard nothing. I might return to this motel in the future but to be honest I will have to weight other options first.
