“Not bad but not what as expected”

  , Orlando
I booked our stay at the Ramada because I knew that they had an indoor heated pool which would be great for the kids. Our rooms were right off of the pool. I was impressed with how well the rooms minimized noise from outside. The rooms were overall clean but the beer that my 5 year old found in the freezer was unexpected. I took the frozen beer to the front desk explaining that I did not need it. This is an older hotel and the room layout shows it. It appears to have been renovated in recent years as the paint and carpets look pretty good. There was a lingering smell of old cigarette smoke in my nonsmoking rooms. The staff was very responsive to our requests. The pool was clean and well kept. Be warned though, the deep end of the pool drops off dramatically from the shallow end - don't go past the rope if you don't know how to swim! Overall I got what I paid for. The biggest disapointment was the breakfast. When I booked the rooms the website indicated that breakfast was a buffet at the adjoining Western Sizzlin. When I checked in I learned that they no longer did this. They instead had breakfast in a room "over there". The room is not labeled and breakfast hours are not posted anywhere. I learned that the breakfast hours are 6 - 9 am 7 days a week. The room is small and gets crowded quickly. The breakfast consists of eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, milk, and orang juice. The food was not great and we ended up buying cereal and poptarts for the kids after our first day. The biscuits were too hard for the kids to eat and neither of my children are egg lovers. It wasn't terrible, but when you are expecting a buffet, it's a let-down. Basically, it's a great place if an indoor pool is higher on your list of priorities than breakfast.
