“Door to room would not lock”

Upon arrival at 4:30, the wait to check in was about 35 minutes due to the front desk being understaffed.We went straight to our room and immediately discovered that the door could be pushed open with no key and would not lock.We asked for the door to be fixed or for another room at around 5 pm and we were told by Shawn that someone would fix it.We went to dinner and came back at 9:40 to find that the door was never fixed.We waited another half hour for maintenance to meet us at the room, maintenance never showed. Repeated calls to the front desk went unanswered.Maintenance did not get the door fixed until 10:30-- approximately 5 hours after we notified the front desk of the problem.The front desk staff were abrupt and unapologetic. Shawn openly complained to us about having too much paperwork to do that night saying, "I don't care...I'm leaving at 11 no matter what!"The room had a terrible musty odor and a large red stain in the carpet near the nightstand. The only reason we stayed was because it was too late to book anywhere else. It was an awful experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.Also, the white paint on the concrete around the pool was heavily chipped away and in poor repair.
