“Cleanliness and attention do detail was missing”

  , Kinsley
The overall outside appearance and location of the hotel was great for our family and the activities we had planned. The front desk associate was curious and efficient and the lobby was well maintained. Our first room smelled of smoke and the associate quickly transferred us to a room 2 doors down. The second room had dirty towels and trash left on one of the chairs in the room, the smell of smoke was not present and the beds were all made. I did express this to the front desk associate, and I didn't push it too hard as I wanted to see her reaction. Her reaction was one of concern but not in offering another room which I was not really interested in door number 3. It did creep out the family though as we prayed our beds were at least clean. We really came for the complementary breakfast and the indoor pool. Our kids like to wind down in the pool and it is a great added bonus for them. Pool chlorine levels or Ph levels were a bit strong as my boys all came out of the pool with red cheeks that were dried out and their eyes were on fire for a few hours before they went to sleep. The complementary breakfast tried to deliver, but failed miserably. Eggs were tough and dried out and the self-made waffles didn't have any spray to put on before the batter so getting the actual waffle off the waffle iron in one piece was almost impossible. The Hostess powdered donuts and cereal seemed to be the best for our family when it was all said and done.We liked the price of the hotel, but will not stay again. I would rather pay more for a hotel with the amenities we request than risk staying in a hotel that may or may not be clean, has a pool that could harm my children, and has a breakfast that is expected in a third world country (or 1 star hotel). This Ramada was listed as a 3 star hotel when we booked the room but it should be listed at less than a 1 star hotel.
