“Ramada stay for the weekend”

We have stayed at this property several times in the last 3 months. We have always been very pleased with our room and the service. However, this time, not so much. We had requested the same room as in the past, which we have done each time. It's at the end of the hall where it's not so noisy. I called twice a week since the first of November to be sure they had the request. When we checked in, they told us they couldn't give us that room....no reason and we later discovered there was no one in the room the first 2 nights we were there. We had a refrigerator that had been brought in....I hope for temporary use.....that sounded like a thrashing machine all night long. I asked about getting a different one but was told they didn't have any others. We didn't get our room serviced the day after arrival, even though we had the sign inside the room. It was okay this time, but would think before going back. The lady at the desk in the evening is very delightful and was helpful.We did request extra blankets the first night and they were brought to our room promptly. The gentleman was very nice who brought them up.Although they have a "no smoking policy", when we would walk out of the lobby, there would be several people standing on each side of the door smoking. I have asthma, so that caused me some problems. At one point, we had to wait about 5 minutes for the person at the desk because they were outside smoking.I was a little disappointed this time and not sure why it was not as good a stay as before, but again, not sure I'd go back again.
