“No idling diesel trucks please”

At some early hour between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM one of the many diesel dump trucks, parked in the customer parking area, began idling its engine outside my room, which woke up my son and myself. It took several attempts to get the room phone to connect with the desk as I could not find any instruction on home to call the desk from the room and the "O" button did not seem to work. When I did make the connection the person at the front desk said that she did not know who the trucks belonged to and it was not possible to ask the owner to shut them off. After emphasizing the situation several times and getting the same none response the person at the desk finally said she would make an attempt to get the truck shut off. Later the truck did turn off but I doubt it was related to my call. We have stayed at this hotel twice but I think next time we will go back to the Holiday Inn Express nearby, although it is more expensive the breakfast is much better and the staff has always been much more responsive. Once at the Holiday Inn there was a problem with a belligerent guest keeping several rooms awake, they removed the guest and gave everyone involved a room credit for the disturbance. That is customer service!
